My beautiful mother, Mary Eleanor, with her cello. She studied at UT Austin with Phyllis Young and later got her Masters degree from Juilliard where she studied with Luigi Silva and Zara Nelsova. She also studied at Yale Summer School with Aldo Parisot, Janos Starker at Indiana, and at the New School of Music with Orlando Cole. She is the founder and director of the Lenape Chamber Ensemble. She was professor of cello at Muhlenberg College, PA, and Glassboro State College, NJ and still teaches private lessons from her home. Her former students are in symphonies such as the Philadelphia Orchestra.
